Trained on UK standards
Our accountants and bookkeepers are trained on UK GAAP, including FRS 102 (Section 1A) and FRS 105 for small companies and micro-entities. They also work to Making Tax Digital requirements, current HMRC filing deadlines and Companies House obligations. We don't adapt a generic process to UK rules. UK compliance is the process.
How we got here
It started with one freelancer, one client and a blank page. A UK accountancy practice had just been incorporated and needed someone to turn that blank page into a working firm: company processes, internal workflow, company secretarial and administrative work, tax setup, and the year-end and bookkeeping software, all built from scratch.
The client noticed, and handed over their entire processing workload to the person who had built it. That trust turned freelance work into something bigger. A subcontractor came on board, then joined as a full employee, and one freelancer's workload grew into a firm's.
We became SM Global Accounting Services in 2025 to carry that work forward properly. The team has grown from one person to a small team since, without losing the hands-on way of working that got us here. Today we support that same practice's accounting workload, around 120–130 clients in total: AML screening, client onboarding, company incorporation and company secretarial work, bookkeeping across the UK, US, UAE and beyond, and statutory accounts preparation and filing for UK companies.
